In the Midst of Losing to Vandy, Spurrier Doesn’t Want People Booing. Or Does He?
Posted by Thomas the Terrible on October 23, 2007
Steve God Spurrier experienced something that he has never experienced before last Saturday, a loss to Vanderbilt. To make matters worse this wasn’t a road game, it was a home game, and the USC Gamecocks also didn’t score a touchdown. While I personally believe fans have the right to boo, apparently God Spurrier doesn’t.
“That’s the first time that’s happened, isn’t it?” Spurrier said Sunday. “I just assumed they were booing me and the coaches for a bad play call.”
Spurrier said he hoped the fans weren’t booing the players, which he feels is out of line.
“I’ve always sort of gone under the thought that professional players get paid. So you can boo them all you want, and they accept that,” he said. “But college kids are amateurs, and I don’t think you should boo them.”
OK college kids might be amateurs but they are getting a free education, free meals & housing on the dollar of the fans. So in that regard, yes the fans have a right to boo them. For the record some of the fans were booing both God Spurrier & the players. I heard watched the game and heard the call in show on the way home, it was brutal. Some of the USC fans were confused and thought they were Alabama fans by stating and I kid you not. “Fire Spurrier”, “Fire the AD” & “We lost I can’t kiss my cousin/mother in law!”.
Last year God Spurrier told the fans not to cheer, now they can’t boo. Spurrier has called this years team “a bunch of average stiffs”. There’s no place for whining in football. If a division 1 college player can’t handle boos or their feelings getting hurt, they need to try out for the equestrian team. THIS IS FOOTBALL!!!!
Sometime in between Saturdays comments and today God Spurrier has decided that well, fans actually do have the right to boo. I wonder if he is still on the sweet stinky weed that Florida can produce.

“Coach Steve Spurrier says Gamecock fans had the right to boo his team, after garnering a number of small penalties that added up to a big disappointment Saturday against Vanderbilt.
“It was embarassing to take those five yard penalties,” Spurrier said Tuesday during his weekly news conference. “We’re not mad at the fans; they have the right to boo because of the way it happened.” The head ball coach referred to a number of false start penalties called against South Carolina Saturday, that may have cost the Gamecocks a touchdown in at least one situation.”
First of all the author for the liberal media giant, WLTX, misspelled “embarrassing” notice two R’s. I wonder why the sudden change in the attitude concerning the boo birds. Maybe he came down from his Florida sweet stinky weed high.
“I thought we had a good gameplan, but it didn’t work,” the head ball coach said.
On the other hand, Carolina’s defense showed up to play Saturday, and they were able to shut the Commodores out three of four quarters. “The defense, I thought, played very well,” the coach said of his team.
“Hopefully we can get into a close, tight game with them,” Spurrier said of the three-loss team, that also shares two Southeastern conference losses with Florida, Kentucky, and Georgia.”
God Tennessee’s defense sucks. John Chavis needs to fired like yesterday.

John Chavis as Captain Chaos
“This is not our final best team ever, I hope everyone understands that,” the coach stated flatly.
He says this year’s strong recruiting class to go with last year’s strong set will underscore his point, but that he’s not ready to let his depth chart rest.
“I’ll try new players if I think they can play better than the guys out there,” Spurrier mentioned.”
Tell you what, why don’t Tennessee trade some unused offensive players for some USC defensive players. Does that sound fair? Then both Tennessee fans and USC fans can boo all the players at the same time. Nothing says love like fans from opposing schools booing in harmony, and firing Phil Fulmer would help as well.
I just scored tickets to this weekends game. If I go I’m sure this will be my view

So I profess on this day 10/23/07.
